February 14th

I made so much noise and plans for this day that Jibola probably heard the word “Valentine’s day” from me more than she has heard from anyone else in her life.

I’m just grateful.
I’m grateful for Jibola who made Lithuania a less lonely place for me.
I’m grateful for Lily whose love for me is so fierce that I can feel it from thousand miles away.
I’m grateful for Jennifer who makes every win and loss feel like ours.
I’m grateful for The Girls who constantly show me how having a sisterhood can give you an anchor in life you didn’t even know you needed.
I’m grateful for Matthew, Okpe, Olumide, Ezekiel, Kayode, Tope, Mayowa who show me in words and action that love can be unconditional.

I may not have the romantic love that is usually the focus on Valentine’s day but I have the love from friendship and sisterhood that makes me feel whole and for that, I’m grateful.
